A woman's Choice

Women's health, especially sexual health, was a big topic this year. It has been a big issue for many years. However, not many women have actually had a say, choice, or power in making laws or preventing laws for other women. Women's sexual choice is also big in media. Think of shows like 16 and pregnant. During three seasons only 3 girls have been shown given their baby up for adoption. Other choices besides raising the baby themselves are often not presented. Even in school all the choices a woman has over her own body aren't taught. The clitoris is rarely to never taught in schools. Women are kept blind to their own anatomy. Women deserve to have choices on decisions for their bodies. One's body is one's body.
-I took this picture with a tripod. It was during the 40 days of life protest even though they are not pictured. It is my friend, Amy, and myself pictured.

  1. Very clever/creative photo with the planned parenthood in the background. I liked your statement "One's body is one's body." It's our body, and we should be allowed to do what we want with it.

  2. I really, really like this photograph. It definitely shows that each woman stands for her own choice over her own body, and that she should not be afraid to express or even exercise that freedom if necessary. This photo really stands out to me as the topic of woman's health and the freedom of choice is very important to me.

  3. Great picture ! This is so true and the background is perfect. It's a great representation of a women's choice, and all of the options are not always taught. This picture explains your idea perfect !

  5. Through schools and church, the most common thing that kids seem to be told when discussing sexual health is that abstinence is the only form of protection and having and raising the child is the only accepted option. Society should instead be telling women that they are entitled to make their own decisions about what they want to do with their body and how they want to spend the rest of their life. This can be done by telling women about the beauty of their own body and providing education on options of sexual practices and child raising practices.

  6. I absolutely love this picture. It is so original and clever and really stands out to make a point. Having the right to you own body and choices is such an issue and it really shouldn't be. There should be no way that anyone else can control a woman's choice in what she wants to do with her body.

  7. I agree with everyone else your picture was perfectly planned and I like how the "O" around your belly buttons. I even think the choice of red and to deplay the word across your stomach says a lot. Well Done!!

  8. I love the fact that Planned Parenthood is in the background of this! This is an awesome picture and I agree with you 100% that these schools should be teaching more about the anatomy of women and less about other "options" for the aftermath of a pregnancy.
