Behind the eyes (Feminism)

Most people see women as strong and completely outgoing. Not a lot of people see a women as shy and reserve. This image is to show that when looking at a women, what's on the outside isn't always what's true. I know I keep a mask to hid what I really feel. You don't expect to see the women hiding behind a bunch of lies and fake smiles. As seen in the picture, there's someone looking at a girl curled into a ball. That's not what you expect from a women, at least not in movies or TV shows.  This is showing the truth 'behind the eyes'.

  1. I find this picture very powerful. At first glance, it seems like just a very artistic view of the eye, but with deeper consideration and thought there is so much more of a story that the photo is telling. I know very well first-hand that there is much more of a story behind a "big eyes and a pretty face" for everyone,

  2. I absolutely love this photo. It speaks a thousand words. I personally do not like to let my feelings show and sometimes am forced to put on a fake smile and make it through the day. There are so many women that do this on a daily basis too.

  3. This is a great picture. I agree with Peyton and Allie. I also think everyone can relate to putting on the mask and not showing thier true feelings.

  4. I would tend to disagree that the stereotype for women is strong and outgoing. I think the stereotype tends to be more meek and passive. That being said, I do understand the point your trying to make.

Stereotypes make it harder for individuals to express themself if they find that they do not meet specific standards.

As far as emotion, I think it can be true for women but maybe even more so for men.

    Nice Job!

  5. While going through all of the posts, this photo really stuck out to me. I too would disagree with the stereotype for women is strong and outgoing but I do understand the point you are making. To me, this photo helps to show how difficult it may be for a women to fully express herself.

Great job on the photo, it is amazing!

  6. This is a great photo, like everyone else said. I think if a women does not act the stereotypical excited, enthusiastic, and happy then people usually don't give them the time of day. There is a stereotype on a woman's personality, thank you for pointing that out!

  7. This image is very strong and the thing that intrigued me was the fact that I am the opposite of your description in the blog. I am more of a shy and reserved individual but deep down I have this outgoing and excitable personality lying somewhere within. I choose to stay inside my four walls of comfort and hide a lot of those true feelings so thank you for this because it shows another side of this idea for me in my own personal way.

  9. Your photo and blog is very moving. I think because so many of us wear masks we fear what taking them off and exposes ourselves would do. There is something humbling about showing the part of yourself that scares you the most. Once again AWESOME picture!!
